The Network Engineer is primarily responsible for all network operations at all STARTEK corporate, production, and datacenter locations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, WAN Routing, LAN Switching, Network Security, End-to-end Customer Connectivity, Trouble Ticket Management, Standardization, and Documentation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Day to day operations to include Standard VLAN Changes, standard firewall/ACL changes, resolving trouble tickets, submitting change requests, monitoring circuit and equipment status, and turning up/turning down new client virtual or physical connections, based on business requirements.

The candidate chosen for this position would have most or all of the following technical skillsets:

  • Ability to Develop, Design and Implement best practice network architecture that is highly available, modular, flexible, and scalable and meets organizational requirements for growth, stability and security. 
  • Configure and apply ACLs based on network filtering requirements 
  • Configure NATs for given network requirements 
  • Troubleshoot LAN/WAN issues with Cisco and Industry standard protocols 
  • Configure advanced routing and switching technologies 
  • Document design specifications, diagrams, installation instructions, and other records. 
  • Work in a highly collaborative team environment to develop high quality solutions and resolve infrastructure outages as quickly as possible. 
  • Develop appropriate Cisco IOS configurations in order to adhere to a detailed network system design. 
  • Remote or on-site support for new call center builds. A passport is required as some global travel will be required to support call center builds. 
  • Ongoing Standardization and Documentation efforts to properly record the current state and standard operating procedures. Good written communication skills are required. 
  • Project based work to further stabilize, improve, and innovate our existing environment. 
  • May perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned and/or required. 

Job Requirements

Qualifications [the legal stuff| how you know if you meet the minimum requirements]. STARTEK employs brand warriors with a wide range of ages, experiences, and backgrounds. We do have a few minimum qualifications though: 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
  • This is a general office environment or work from home position. 
  • Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. 
  • Answers telephone calls, uses personal computer and other business machines extensively, which requires the ability to apply finger dexterity. Individual bends, reaches, pushes and pulls file drawers to file records and reports. 
  • While the schedule is generally a Monday through Friday daily schedule, employee must be able to support operations which are opened weekends and evenings. All employees must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, an on-call rotation, holidays and emergency shifts as required. 
  • May be required to travel to attend training or other job-related meetings.

Other position Considerations:
  • Travel may be required to attend work related meetings and training sessions. 
  • May be required to work a flexible schedule that provides needed coverage for customer service levels and/or time-sensitive projects. 
  • Able to maintain a regular work schedule to meet the needs of the business.
