Job Description

Maintenance Worker
Applies basic skills and may develop advanced skills using tools and equipment appropriate for the position or specialization.
1. Visually inspects and test furniture, fixtures and equipment.
2. Conducts preventative maintenance as scheduled on equipment.
3. Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures.
4. Maintains facility grounds.
5. Repairs and maintains physical structures of the building.
6. Dismantles defective furniture, fixtures and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
7. Diagnoses problems or repairs of furniture, fixtures and equipment.
8. Install and repair electrical apparatus such as transformers and wiring, electrical parts, and electronic components of furniture, fixtures and equipment or the facility.
9. Assemble, install and maintain furniture systems.
10. Informs Facility Manager I, II or III of potential hazards at a location.
11. Legibly fill out maintenance reports, incident reports and time sheets.
Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Solid skills in mathematics including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to follow defined procedures and deal with different and specialized situations.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
  • Ability to stay alert as to make safe decisions and use proper judgment. Maintain awareness of surroundings, for example, work performed by others.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals and safety rules.
  • Requires a High School (H.S.) or G.E.D., or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • At least one (1) year related experience.
